Game Of Uncertainty

Who creates computer programs without bugs? We are all familiar with the world of glitches and errors (thanks Y2K!). The idea of creating a game around glitching objects, driven by uncertainty of randomness was tantalizing for me, but I am sure this has been attempted and done to death already. I imagined body slamming failing objects will bring some slapstick humor to the experience, so my idea was to make a game that is generally about horsing around in a world that is falling apart. That is where Broken Dolls comes in.

In the beginning, without actually having something in the game space, my mind just couldn't come up with a decent enough idea. It was only when just one day was left till the end of Game Off game jam 2021, did my ADHD hyper focus kick in and ideas started pouring in. And you know what else pours in when you are hastily making a computer program? Oh...yes bugs!

Bugs in this game ironically prevented the progress quite a bit. I am to blame for that because I am quite inexperienced. So the current version of Broken Dolls available right now is littered with bugs. I have a version with some improvements in pipeline, but a few major bugs are evading me.

Lets hope I get to them soon and can add more levels, characters (and maybe a boss?) to the game.
